Activities to do before you watch Inside Out 2

Our ODEON screenings are happening 22 and 23 June

07 May 2024

Thanks to our partners at ODEON, you can watch exclusive Girlguiding screenings of Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 on 22 and 23 June.

Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday 21 May 2024 at 12pm via Girlguiding news, our bi-monthly volunteer marketing newsletter.

Inside Out 2 is about girls’ mental wellbeing

We’re returning to the mind of Riley and her emotions for a remarkable adventure. As ‘headquarters’ is undergoing a sudden reconstruction, Riley’s mind makes room for some brand-new emotions.

Watch the trailer now.

This is going to be a fun experience for girls to have a special day out, celebrate friendship and think about just how powerful their minds can be.

Here's more information about what you can do to plan your trip.

We’re also launching an extra sparkly Inside Out 2 badge which will be available from the online shop.

Sign up to be notified when the badges are in stock.

Mental Health Awareness Week is coming up

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week on 13-19 May 2024. Now is a good time to think about doing some mental health and wellbeing activities to mark it, and get girls excited about going to the cinema with Girlguiding.

Our 15th Girls’ Attitudes Survey tells us 89% of girls and young women aged 7-21 feel generally worried and anxious. That’s 11% more than in 2016. Their worries range from money and doing well at school to how they look or future opportunities.

We also know that Be Well theme is the most popular programme theme among girls and that’s all about feeling well inside and out.

To get girls thinking about the topics of Inside Out 2 before you go to the screenings, take a look at some of the wellbeing themed programme activities below.

Look at these programme activities

For Rainbows, there’s plenty of activities to run that’ll get them exploring their confidence.

For Brownies, these activities will help them to notice their strengths!

For Guides, help them shed stress and feel better with these mindful activities and interest badges.

For Rangers, you can challenge them to celebrate their uniqueness and switch off from their worries.

About our Be Well theme

Everything in our programme - from badges and awards to unit meeting activities and skills builders - fits into 1 of 6 programme themes.

The Be Well theme is all looking after yourself. And those around you too. Girls explore how to stay safe, healthy and happy. They learn how to help others when they’re hurt - essential skills to take with them through life.

We created the Be Well theme to help girls explore ways to look after their mind, body and soul. I's important to us that girls know the importance of taking care of themselves and others, mentally and physically.' - Amelia, our youth programme manager.

Girls who want to take Be Well further can achieve their theme award for each section by completing:

  • 1 interest badge.
  • 1 skills builder stage.
  • A certain number of hours of unit meeting activities from the Be Well theme: 2 hours for Rainbows, 3 hours for Brownies and 4 hours for Guides and Rangers.
